Hello Strangers. I have been away… cooking, running, studying, meditating…. Just doing things. I came across a topic that I have had on/off experiences with and decided to write a build.
Sigils. Sigils are defined an inscription or painted symbol considered to have magical power. So a picture or a veve, a glyph, written words are sigil, and so on. So anything written is and can be a sigil right? Yes and no.
A sigil, as with all things magical, must mean something to the person wielding it. If you use a hieroglyph and you don’t intimately know what it stands for, how do you expect it to work for you? That’s like asking a stranger for money. Some might give you a little, but most will ignore you. It makes sense does it not?
And anything can be a sigil. Anything that has meaning for you. A commemorative quarter with the state you were born on the back. That frog you had to draw to get into correspondence school. The Oshun veve that you learned to draw because it was so cool. A hashtag, and ‘at’ symbol. Anything. It just has to have meaning for you.
And because it has a meaning to you it will amplify your work.
And on that note… I will say….
