One of my NY Resolutions for this area of my life is to become more active and not just the occasional worker. I am WAY more active than I was, but it isn’t at the level I thought I’d be. I’m not saying I’m failing, but I’m still shaking it all up.
I don’t do monthly esbats. I’m not a Wiccan so should I even call it that? An esbat is a lunar monthly meeting. Like xians go to church every Sunday and that’s their meeting time, Wiccans tend to meet and have their services on an agreed phase of the moon. As a root worker, I have never seen the need to do this. Especially since the nature of my work is solitary. But I kind of want to get out of my comfort zone and shake it up.
So…. I have decided to either do Full or new moon work. I’ve not quite determined what that work will look like, but I am putting it out there. The 1st full moon of this Asiatic New year is Saturday. So… I got a journal and I will be somewhere in nature with a candle, some incense and water just chilling and journaling. The Full moon is about the fulfillment of goals. The goal I had was to start this type of personal introspection. The new moon is about planning of goals. I want to be closer to nature so, of course, this is one way to do that. I already observe (not celebrate) the celestial changes; why not add on the lunar ones as well. That’s balanced energy. Plus indigenous Original cultures have full moon practices.
I’ve been to my fair share of esbats. Probably more than the average root doctor or lay person. I kinda know what it’s supposed to look like (I promise you, my next house is gonna have some odd amenities). There are some things I have been meaning to do. Why not let the full moon and a cast circle aid my endeavors?
